For the Government to Really Belong to the People, the People Really Have to Choose it for Themselves

Rhode Island has Great Beaches, Wonderful People of all Sizes Shapes & Colors, and a State Budget that is Half a Billion Dollars in the Hole. The Beaches are a Gift from God, the People have grown and flourished here for Centuries, and the Budget got this way because of Short Term Thinking and State Legislators who Ignored the People they're supposed to Serve

If We don't want the U.S. Government to fall Prey to these same forces of Excess Spending and a Legislature out of touch with the People who Pay the Bills, we need to Vote for Candidates who will Say the Right Thing because they Believe it and then Do the Right Thing because they've Said it.

Some Laws promote the Economy. Some Laws Burden the Economy. We should strive to UN-Burden the Economy whenever possible. Some Laws govern people's Behavior. Some Laws create an Environment where People can Make their Own Choices. We should strive to Promote Individual Responsibility by granting Individual Authority wherever possible.

August 1st, 2008: Candidate Mark Zaccaria made a major statement today on the future of our productive economy. Zaccaria listed concrete steps that Congress could take today to help all Americans weather the current economic storm. Better yet, he suggested ways in which Congress could lead the way to creating the next economic wave that all of us will ride. Read the accompanying Press Release: Click Here

The American Economy is the Engine that Drives Our Prosperity. It should Serve Us, not Enslave Us. But We should Promote it and Learn to Harness it for the good of ourselves and our families. We should NOT Drag It Down by Siphoning Off Capital to pay for inefficient, government managed programs... Especially when real, profit making Private Sector initiatives can do the job instead.
